Bug Description

I report a new bug because it's a different issue but we were discussing it in bug #261873

I would like to see HAL supporting touchscreen calibration with evtouch for the Xenarc 7" 706 series.

In Hardy and in Intrepid, it's basically working well with evtouch except that it's very painful to calibrate and we still didn't succeed to have a good calibration. (The current one was done manually by trying/restarting X/modifying x.org)

I attach the lshal output. The touchscreen is on /dev/input/event2.

The calibrate utility accept to launch itself with the Xenarc and seems to work fine. Unfortunatly, it has no effect at all.

If this doesn't require too much work, can we hope to see this in Jaunty ? Is there more information thatI could provide?

In 9.04, calibration is working (it modify the /etc/evtouch/config file and the behaviour of the touchscreen change). The bug that still exists is that values in config file are completely wrong. (you have to reset the values to 0 then invert x and y axis).

I've described my situation on bug #292377.

Hi ploum,

Thanks for including the attached files. Could you also include your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or Xorg.0.log.old) from after reproducing the issue?

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
