When running the ubuntu-mid or ubutu-mobile installer, no kernel is installed. The resulting system cannot boot without manual intervention.

This is an issue with the way that the mid and mobile images are constructed. ubiquity expects to find /cdrom/casper/vmlinuz, but the images have /cdrom/vmlinuz. Moving the location of vmlinuz in the images allows the install to succeed.

Emmet has told me this is due to the kernel being installed to the key on /, rather than under casper.

The script responsible for generating the image has been fixed to install the kernel under casper.
