Bug Description

Binary package hint: midori

midori shouldn't replace firefox or konquroer as the default web browser; it is too unstable for that. This patch makes it be the X11 web browser of last resort in terms of defaultness.

Hi Michael,

You have milestoned this for "later" does that mean you don't want it
uploading for Intrepid?

Thanks,

James

Whoops. This was susposed to be marked -beta. This needs to be uploaded before final freeze, because anyone who has alpha tested Xubuntu will have Midori installed as the default browser, and its non-obvious how to change it (unless I overlooked a GUI interface, the only way to do it is with the update-alternatives command). Can you please upload this?

Changed in midori:
milestone: later → ubuntu-8.10-beta

This bug was fixed in the package midori - 0.0.18-0ubuntu2

---------------
midori (0.0.18-0ubuntu2) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Changed postinst to make midori be the browser
of last resort so to speak since it is still greatly
unstable and not usuable for day to day browing yet (LP: #274238)
