fwiw, the bug fixes in 0.10 and 0.11 are quite important, there were a few changes in the config setup for 0.9 (the version currently in Ubuntu) and in various situations people are either unable to start Terminator, or have it crash on them. The former case sucks, but the latter case is deeply undesirable.

In terms of the additional features, only the keyboard shortcuts one is particularly invasive, but it has no outstanding bugs.

If possible I would like to have the attached patch applied too (be it in Debian before any sync, or in Ubuntu afterwards). The version.py part should be obvious and was an oversight (albeit an embarrassing one!) during release. The configfile.py part prevents config file errors being fatal (silently so if Terminator is launched graphically).

The (not complete, as not all bugs were reported in LP) list of bugs fixed is:

bug #247457
bug #247893
bug #247907
bug #247430
bug #246706
bug #245733
bug #249065
bug #247330
bug #249200
bug #248359
bug #256335
bug #252971
bug #268207

(some of these are not necessarily serious, and some are fixing things broken by 0.10. I did not use science to make the list)

I'd say cherry pick those fixes which are most important (crashers) and apply those to 0.9-2. We can then backport 0.11-2 once in jaunty.

hm... no rdepends, and only one outstanding bug in debian, so I'm not too opposed to getting in the new version.

Chris, are the inabilities to start terminator caused by the new config parsing that would hit us, or due to the currently present package?

Stefan: 0.9 had at least one startup problem - bug #247893. I'd need to dig through bzr history to be sure.

The new config parser in 0.10 did introduce a few regressions which were dealt with in 0.11 and the patch that went into 0.11-2 in sid fixes another. There are no outstanding config parsing regressions since that.

LP#247893 was fixed in rev 433 :

0.10 was released around rev 517

Also the outstanding bug in debian is unreproducible, therefor invalid.
