Toshiba A100-306 laptop (which uses intel 945gm and GMA950) successfully enters suspend but fails to resume. On resume screen wakes but there is just a flashing cursor on a black screen. I have to manually restart the pc.

I have the same problem with my D620. Resume worked countless times without any problem (and very quick) with kernel version 2.6.27-2. Since the update to 2.6.27-3, resume from suspend doesn't work anymore.

The fact that two entirely different types of computers do not resume from suspend is probably unrelated as suspend and resume is very hardware specific. This bug report, regarding a Toshiba A100-306 should be a different one from the one regarding the Dell D620.

On my D630 I don't see a flashing cursor at all. I just see nothing.

It _seems_ as if networking is up. So when I get some time later I might try and ssh in after resume to get some debugging info (if that is of any use).

Resume worked perfectly with 2.6.27-2, the hardware is still the same. Additionally, there are several other people reporting resume problems with 2.6.27-3, which haven't had such problems with 2.6.27-2. As I can see, there is 2.6.27-4 in the archive now, I will test this one now.

Hi Christian. IMO, this bug is now fixed. This bug relates to Toshiba A100-306s, which won't resume from suspend. They now will resume. Therefore if you are still having suspend problems, you need to file a separate bug.

Also, the two bugs marked as duplicates of this one do not appear to be duplicates at all, since the symptoms are different, and so is the hardware.

As both Nick and Brian have commented above, even though you may be experiencing the same symptoms that were originally reported here, this issue is hardware specific. Since Nick is the original bug reporter and has commented that this bug is resolved for him I'm marking this "Fix Released". For those of you still experiencing issues, please open a new kernel bug report - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+filebug . Additionally, I'm unmarking the two bugs marked as duplicates as they really should be individual reports. Thanks.
