Bug Description

When I right-click on a folder in Nautilus and choose to sign it, I am prompted to select which key to use for signature and then asked to type that key's passphrase. However, if the folder contains more than one file, the passphrase will be required for each file. This is confusing because it makes one wonder whether one typed in the wrong password, and annoying because of the amount of typing required to sign a folder of even a small size.

My proposed solution is to allow the user to type the passphrase once and use that authentication to sign each individual file.

Marking against seahorse.

What version of Ubuntu and what version of seahorse are you running?

As a workaround, might I suggest creating an archive of the directory and signing that instead?

This is still an issue with 2.23.92 and due to the gnome-keyring behaviour as outlined in bug 259886.
