Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

network-manager (0.7~~svn20080818t061112+eni0-0ubuntu1)

NetworkManager 0.7 complains on start-up that there is no directory:

/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections

Creating this directory by hand makes NM stop complaining.

The NM DEB should crate this directory by default, no?

Is this a duplicate of bug #259214 ?

I don't think so.

This bug is simply that on installation the NM DEB should make sure to create the /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections folder, which NM uses (new as of .7) to store system wide connection information so that network connections can be established prior to user login ('cause in the past connection info was stored in individual users Gconf db)

bug #259214 may well be a _result_ of this bug (that is not having the directory may lead NM to NOT save system settings) but I haven't tested that.
