font size changes when terminal opened

Bug Description
With terminator in Intrepid, the font size in an existing window changes when a new terminal is opened.
To reproduce:-
1. Open terminator
2. Press Control and minus to reduce font size
3. Open terminal
4. Observe that the font size in the existing terminator window changes back up.
A video to show it happening is attached.

I can reproduce it, it should be some issue with gconf refreshing
