Desktop URL shortcuts open slowly

Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

1. open https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid in Firefox
2. drag icon from address bar to desktop
3. open URL
4. the window list shows an entry for 'Opening Intrepid' after ~7 seconds
5. the URL is now launched in Firefox
6. after ~15 seconds the 'Opening Intrepid' window list entry is cleared

Note: I've seen this behaviour for all (back to 6.10???) Ubuntu releases and on different machines.

seems firefox which doesn't do startup notification correctly

Thank you for taking the time to file this bug report with us. Closing due to age. If this is still a problem in 3.0.7 please reopen this bug.
Also please reopen with all new information on how to reproduce this bug by giving us step by step instructions.
We also need what happens what is expected to happen.
To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New". Thanks again!
