Hi,

We are currently in feature freeze, and I believe this update would
require a feature freeze exception. You can find details on the process
here:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess

Please update the bug with the required information and subscribe
motu-release.

Thanks,

James

Freeze Exception Request.

Reason :
- Actual 1.5.X branch is not maintained upstream.
- 1.6.2.3 had some testing upstream as it's not the first release for the branch.

Diff between the 2 version is included.
There is no ChangeLog upstream.
Build log available here : http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17608035/buildlog_ubuntu-intrepid-i386.cairo-dock_1.6.2.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz
Install log is included.

Testing : Installing, launching and closing some applications OK. Preferences dialog works too.
Testing packages available in my PPA.

Hi Julien,

There is a "data/ChangeLog.txt" file, is this not a full changelog?

If not, then attaching the svn log will be a start.

Thanks,

James

Forget this. It's not a complete ChangeLog, and concern also applets (not included in this package) but it's a good start.
SVN log is half in french, half in english, and commit message not very clear sometimes.

What about integration with GNOME 2.24?

Integration with GNOME only concern applets, which is not part of this package.

I tested it for a while, it provides some translations and some new features, but please note there's a little bug (at least from my POV): choose Configure -> Customization, choose default theme and click on Preferences button. No action is taken and terminal shows "cairo_dock_configure_module: assertion `pModule != NULL' failed" message.

This is not a blocker and can be addressed via SRU, I'm giving my ACK #1 but if exception is granted, please be quick to upload it to Intrepid and become bug contact just to make sure we can fix regressions in Intrepid.

I can manage bug with upstream (I'm in contact with them), and I already subscribed myself for bugs mails on cairo-dock.
Please note that I can't upload anything in the repository, so I can't help on the "please be quick to upload it" stuff :)

Ack #2 and approved. It's a short build and it's new to Intrepid, so there's no risk for regression from Hardy. Get it sponsored quickly though.

Uploaded to Intrepid. I removed -dbg package to avoid going through NEW, it had no contents anyway.
