Binary package hint: checkgmail

When checkgmail is run, it uses a very high amount of CPU (80% or more) for about 40 seconds before loading the icon.

Ubuntu 8.04

I confirm this. I'm using version 1.13-2. Btw, checkgmail doesn't authentificate because Gmail login procedures have changed. It has been fixed in SVN. Anyone willing to make a patch?

I was experiencing this bug then I reinstalled ubuntu 8.04 and it worked fine -- not that that's what I'm suggesting but I'm just saying it's not reproducible.
