mplayer .desktop file fails to validate

Binary package hint: mplayer

The .desktop file provided by mplayer 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu13 fails to validate with desktop-file-validate.

$ desktop-file-validate mplayer.desktop
mplayer.desktop: warning: key "Encoding" in group "Desktop Entry" is deprecated
mplayer.desktop: warning: value "mplayer.xpm" for key "Icon" in group "Desktop Entry" is an icon name with an extension, but there should be no extension as described in the Icon Theme Specification if the value is not an absolute path

It looks like you need to be a member of the Ubuntu Development Team (ubuntu-dev) in order to upload to the mplayer bzr branch. If this is not the case, please correct me. Otherwise, could a member of the Ubuntu Development Team take care of uploading my patch to the bzr?

That's correct, but this is why bzr is good - you can make your own branch on Launchpad, which we can then merge from.

I have created my own branch, and I have linked it to this bug. This is the first time I have prepared a patch in a bzr branch, so if I have done something wrong, please let me know.

parsechangelog/debian: warning: debian/changelog(l6): badly formatted trailer line

Please see revision 84 of lp:~ubuntu-dev/mplayer/ubuntu, where I fixed this. Otherwise, this looks fine and I've uploaded it; thanks!
