Bug Description

gnucash 2.2.6 is now in Intrepid repositories. I would like to ask gnucash to be backported from Intrepid to Hardy.

gnucash 2.2.6 builds succesfully in my Hardy PPA and the binaries works correctly.
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/saivann/ubuntu hardy main

gnucash 2.2.6 package does not contain libraries that might break Hardy dependencies.

gnucash 2.2.6 Re-enable the long awaited HBCI feature bug 5973.

gnucash 2.2.6 Is a bug-fix release, very appropriate for Hardy which is a LTS, it also fixes crash bug 218723.

SRU is willing to backport this. Since it is SRU acceptable, I'm closing this backport as invalid, if it isn't SRUed, please reopne.

Michael Casadevall : gnucash is still not in hardy-updates, can you point to the SRU bug if there's any? Or should we re-open the backport request?

Is 2.6.2 a part of updates on the stable version or is it going to be a part of backports archive?

As soon as this bug is closed (it's a backport request) a backport of Gnucash 2.2.6-1ubuntu1 will be available from the backports archive.

But this bug has been in "Invalid" state since 2008-08-28 due to which it does not even appear in the open bugs list.

What does it take to move this bug into someone's radar to backport or provide upgrade in the stable release?

re-opening the bug didn't change the status from Invalid back to something valid.

I have installed it from the PPA published above.
It is working good so far.
Based on what can we promote this backport into the stable release?

It looks like this bug requests a backport from Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid
Ibex). However, as Intrepid is no longer supported, such a backport is
no longer possible.

This bug is being set to "Won't Fix". If you would still like to move
forward with this backport request, please re-open the bug and adjust
it to request a backport from a current release.
