Synaptics touchpad hanging X startup on Acer Ferrari 3200 notebook

Bug Description

When I try to boot Ubuntu from Live CD or after install, X hangs at a black
screen. I figured out that commenting out this line allowed X to continue loading:

InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad"

This calls the touchpad section that loads the synaptics driver, and it must be
hanging up there.

Ubuntu has had this problem since the beginning. I have not had this problem on
other distros. That's about all I know.

I did a reinstall with breezy final tonight and now things work fine. I still
have to do vga=771 to get the damn installer to work, however.

Marking invalid.

P.S. Breezy is a great step forward.
