run: gnome-system-monitor

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Glib::FileError'

run: sudo gnome-system-monitor

no errors, it's works fine

Can you attach your ~/.xsession-errors file? Also does this works with another new user created on your system?. thanks.

backtrace done, ~/.xsession-errors file not found. gnome-system-monitor works with sudo/root but i don't know if it works with new user.
reading bug report, i think that errors are linked to theme (maybe).

thanks, but the trace is missing some symbols, may you install the following packages and get a new one? libgtkmm-2.4-1c2a-dbgsym , gnome-system-monitor-dbgsym, libglibmm-2.4-1c2a-dbgsym , thanks.

Similar problem here. It segfaults but works with sudo. Perhaps related? Here's a backtrace.

So is an updated glibmm likely to be shipped in Ubuntu Hardy? Upstream makes bug-fixes so they can be shipped.

hey murray, sorry for the delay to reply, we have a manpower issue there and nobody is looking specifically to the g*mm updates but I've added those on my list of things to update in hardy now
