Bug Description

After resume from hibernate all virtual terminals (VT1-6) have a different (and invalid for my LCD display)
hsync and vsync frequency:

hsync: 135.1 kHz
vsync: 87.7 Hz

The virtual terminals show no problems if hibernate isn't used.

sudo killall getty to restart the terminals didn't help.

I'm running Kubuntu Breezy (latest upgrades), Linux breezy 2.6.12-9-k7 #1 i686 GNU/Linux on an AMD Duron 800
Mhz plus nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (nvidia restricted module).

ubuntu hw db id: a0036f9fb0eb0f3be0575830cdb31909

ok, problem seems to be related to restricted nvidia driver. nv driver doesn't have the problem.

Yeah, I've seen that a couple of times. I'm afraid there's not a great deal we
can do - you can try disabling POST_VIDEO and SAVE_VBE_STATE in
/etc/default/acpi-support, but other than that we have no way of fixing the
nvidia driver since they don't supply the source code.
