Minimizing window closes application

Bug Description

Minimizing window closes the application running in the window. Using Gnome.
Problem recently developed. Also icons do not appear on bottom panel. I have not
changed any settings to produce this (as far as I know).

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? What application are you
running and how? How to minimize it and what happens? what icon theme do you use?

Could you additionally tell us, which applets you have on your panel? Do you
have the "Window list" applet as well? Seems to me it was removed.
