Bug Description

Mostly seen after resuming from hibernate but I _think_ I have seen it with
regular boot-up.
The kernel messages if unquieted usually stop after the line containing
something like 'input: serial AT keyboard detected'
but sometimes one or two more lines are printed
Running:scripts/top (I forgot what and I am not near the machine right now)
either it hangs after that or writes Done on a new line.
But the keyboard is working it echoes whatever I type as if it was a cat (the
program) running or similar.
Assigned to acpi-support since it occured mostly while testing hibernate

Jeff, is there a better way to track down exactly where this is hanging?

Not trivially, no. If it hangs after the point where 'break' drops them to a
shell, that can be helpful. Dropping quiet from the kernel command line also helps.

Otherwise if we know where abouts the hang is, various "set -x" could be added
to the shell scripts to watch where it's at. Is it worth hacking in a debug
option that does a set -x in each script?

I dropped the quiet line that's how I saw it goes to the line about the keyboard.
With quiet passed, just one line is written, it stops before writing two lines
related to IDE (which appear when boot is successful).
it did not happen since the report and I have just upgraded now.I'll see if it
occurs again.

FWIW I haven't seen this since last reporting, it may have been somehow close to
breezy.
I don't mind if you close it.
