Bug Description

System: IBM T61p 6457-7WU
SDHC: Transcend 16GB SDHC

I can read and write this successfully using the T61p's built-in media reader with Gutsy (and with MS-Win), but Hardy almost immediately starts botching the I/O, even on a tiny text file. I have the latest Hardy updates as of time of posting, including tonight's kernel update.

# uname -a
Linux noel-hardy 2.6.24-14-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 3 04:16:51 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Logs attached.

If I put the exact same SDHC card into a USB 2.0 adapter, it works flawlessly. The lsusb information for that adapter is:

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 058f:6335 Alcor Micro Corp.

I am not currently reproducing this problem, having installed Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1 with all updates. Will continue to test.

Hi Noel,

Thanks for the feedback. It seems from your last comment this has likely been resolved with the 8.04.1 point release. I'm going to mark this "Fix Released" for now. If you do notice this issue reappear please feel free to change the status from "Fix Released" back to "New". Thanks.

Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote : Kernel team bugs

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
