Audip controls work independently of each other

Bug Description

The volume control (slider) works independently of the volume control buttons (up, down and mute). In effect, for the audio to work, the slider must be all the way up and then the volume control buttons must be used to actually change the volume.

Audio card: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM
Release: Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) BETA
Kernel: 2.6.24-12-generic
Package: alsa-base1.0.16-0ubuntu4

Make that "Audio controls", not "audip controls".

With the final release of Hardy, this is still an issue.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
