Bug Description

hxtools fails to build with the error:

/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/ccpYXPUA.ltrans0.ltrans.o: in function `main':
/usr/src/hxtools-20231224-2build1/smath/<artificial>:263:(.text.startup+0x145): undefined reference to `BUILD_BUG_ON_EXPR'

Why was this changed to affect libhx? I don't see this failure in libhx.

I believe this is a duplicate to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hxtools/+bug/2060825.

libhx doesn't FTBFS on Noble. Closing this as Invalid.

Sorry, I should have given more details.
hxtools was FTBFS in Noble as it was failing to find a symbol from libhx. Which has been fixed in libhx_4.23.
Oracular will get the new package from Debian, and the other bug on hxtools fixed the FTBFS for Noble, so all good now.
