Bug Description

The graphics in a opengl game are damaged. OpenGL programs worked without a problem on Gutsy. I have an Intel X3100 graphics chip and using Hardy with latest updates. The problem appears in every opengl program.

I see similar OpenGL rendering problems with OpenArena.

Many (but not all) surfaces which are supposed to be solid are not rendered, and instead bits of the rest of the world are smeared in place. I'll try to post a screenshot later.

This on a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Intel X3100 i965 graphics, using Hardy with all updates to date (2008-04-03).

Note that this happens regardless of whether I am running Compiz or Metacity.

Hello,

I´ve got a Toshiba Tecra A9 (laptop) with an intel Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller. (Ubuntu HH, up-to-date). My graphics are not normal in (for instance) Open Arena/Alien Arena (unfinished floors/strange lines). On the other hand, Compiz works fine. (cube and effects) I wonder what´s wrong?

ps: I use Ubuntu HH 8.04 i386

On further research, this appears to be a duplicate of Bug #199823 , for which a fix now exists in Debian and will eventually arrive in Ubuntu. Meanwhile, patched packages are available for individual download from Bug #199823.
