dovecot created 15 copies on moving mail

Error log from date of move.

Thanks for taking the time to report a bug and help make ubuntu better. Where did you notice that there were 15 copies of each moved message ? In thunderbird or in the maildir directory on the server ?

It may be an issue with thunderbird.

I noticed it first in the maildir directory on the server. (More precisely, I used Beagle to find an old email, and got fifteen identical-looking hits; Beagle indexes the maildir directories.)

The above 15 entries are all copies of the same message. The modification date of the directory coincides with the "changed" date of these entries (Jan 23 2007), which is the date of the entries in the error log on the server. I understand that this could be a thunderbird bug.

I just noticed a attached the wrong log file above. I'll attach the correct log file showing the imap errors.

same here, had this twice in the past on Ubuntu 6.06.2 LTS amd64
Error shows up when a Thunderbird user moves large folders to the trash.

Only errors i can see are
Sep 1 14:00:58 ipbox dovecot: imap(userxy): Transaction log got desynced for index /home/userxy/Maildir/.Archiv 2006/dovecot.index

and as a result:
Sep 1 14:08:16 ipbox dovecot: imap(userxy): o_stream_send_istream(/home/userxy/Maildir/.Trash/tmp/1220270424.P10669Q118M938670.ipbox) failed: No space left on device

a 15GB Mailbox ended with 76 GB when the filesystem was full
