Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdenetwork

I have no log to show because there is no logging when the issue occurs. Kopete just crashes when adding a MSN account.
Editing the << kopeterc >> config file and adding a MSN account, causes kopete to crash on starting.
The problem is non existant when configuring other account types.

Can you please include the version of ubuntu you're running? Please do the following:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

Also, add the account into kopeterc, but make sure that ExcludeConnect=true for the account so that kopete starts up. After this, change the status for the account to online, this should generate a crash log. Post this.

As for me, I'm experiencing this issue. I edited kopeterc to exclude my msn accounts from auto-login, and kopete starts up just fine. It is when the msn account begins connecting that Kopete crashes. I have attached the crash log when I change the status to online.

Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04

kopete:
  Installed: 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu1
  Version table:

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I no longer experience the crash in 8.10. This is with the exact same config I was using in 8.04.
