Bug Description

usb flash memory-stics have become very popular,

when in a rush smb wants to write data into flash and runaway, they might forget, that they haven't disconnected the flash... - so they'll unfortunately get corrupted data... and get annoyed/frustrated (especially if they used win before, as win tend to synchronize at once - and no problem as far as I know..)
(especcialy, if the desktop is covered wiht some programs, it is easy to forget)

two possible sollution proposals:
1) make usb-flash-disc status icon in the panel (simillary as there is BlueTooth or LAN icons in gnome-panel)
and it should be easy to rightclick and choose to disconnect/synchronize

2) try to synchronize copied data at once (especially larger files)
I know there's issue with flash-FAT or so, as frequent writes wear it out..,
but in many cases users just copy some files and that's all
may be some logging and heuristics could be used to determine:
if the data is written once
or wether the user works with data from usb

now this can be achieved via Disk Mounter Applet
though it would still lack some configurability
