missing man page for update-desktop-database

Not sure that it makes sense to have bug filed there, lintian already list those errors on build

Attached is a debdiff that contains a man page for update-desktop-data.

- I think it belongs into section 8.
- synopsis formatting should use standard formatting for the meta variables
- Could the description be a bit more verbose about the purpose, and when you have to run the script?
- OPTIONS should not replicate the CLI argument structure
- sentences should end in a period

Should the binary really be in /usr/sbin, then? The split between sections 1 and 8 usually follows the bin/sbin split.

Since there's currently not an actionable patch here (waiting for revisions), I'm unsubscribing ubuntu-main-sponsors for now. Please resubscribe when the patch has been updated.

Just had a poke around in the code hosted on Launchpad. Not to sure, but would http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/maverick/desktop-file-utils/maverick/annotate/head:/debian/desktop-file-install.8 be a valid man page?

The package in the latest development release has the man page synced from Debian. (It looks like it is the same as linked in comment #10) I am closing this bug and marking it as fixed. Thanks!
