Ubuntu 7.10 has a breakdown (I need restart whith reset button) when surfing internet with Firefox or another browser.

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. Have similar problem with ATI R7000 videocard using gnome as my windows manager. In my case, it would seem that Gutsy Kernel / video driver, not firefox is the problem. I feel that 7.10 should be considered a Beta release. Most computer professionals would check a new Windows release for a month or two (maybe a year) before installing it on customer sites where stability is needed. We have been priviledged with very stable releases up to now.

Besides system lockups, I also get text corruption and text fields being obscured diagonally

Just waiting for the experts to spot and fix the errors

Sorry but Firefox-2 is getting near EOS and they wont be fixing anything but major issues security issues mainly. Please try to reproduce this with Firefox-3.0 if you can reproduce this bug please click on Help > Report a problem and file the bug that way.
Please feel free to file a new bug against video drivers or whatever package you think it is but firefox will not carry a fix for this
