In select timezone section, "Kolkata" is shown as "Calcutta"

Bug Description

This is a minor bug.

In user preferences, during select time zone section, If you want to select the indian time zone you will notice that Indian city "Kolkata" is missing, instead its old name "Calcutta" is shown.

"Culcutta is the old name of the city, since then the name of the city has been changed, and the current name of city is "Kolkata"

Launchpad uses the pytz module to build the list of timezone names, so this bug has been added to that project.

Hardy's python-tz package needs to be updated, or we need to provide our own pytz module instead of using the system package.

This is a side effect of Bug #207604 - the data files have been updated, but the timezone lists in the current pytz package are now out of date.

This was fixed in python-tz 2008h-1 . Kolkata was added. Calcutta remains to this day.

Hardy has seen the end of its life and is no longer receiving any updates. Marking the Hardy task for this ticket as "Won't Fix".
