Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde

Hi,

in the preference if I choose that kde must open html and htmls in an application based in the extension, the application who are providing the link freeze (kontact or kopete at least) and the link is not open.
If I precise the navigator for firefox or konqueror it's working fine.

N.

Can you tell me which application you have set in System Settings to be the default web browser, or where you are setting this up to use something other than Konqueror or Firefox? What are you trying to open HTML files up with that is causing Kontact and/or Kopete to freeze? Thanks!

Hi,

the behavior is a little bit different now. I upgraded to kde 3.5.9 but it's still not working but at least the applications are not freezing now. When I'm setting the default web browser in System Settings to open the http and https link in an application based on the contents of the url (so if inside konqueror in this case as choose in the association files) konqueror seems to open the link (I can see in the taskbar that konqueror is trying to be open) but it'll never open.
If I force the link to be open inside konqueror or firefox it's working fine. So now it's seems that the problem is more inside the association files.

I think you can closed the bug because I cannot reproduce it now.
