Bug Description
Binary package hint: konqueror
The bug appears when the id of the samba user is quite long like "name.surname".
In this case, konqueror abbreviates the id name with some dots in something like "nam...rname".
So it sends to samba the id abbreviated, not the complete one, and the authentication fails.

I have the same problem (after update to gutsy)
This happen on every remote connection when the user is long.
Only works when open files directly from kate for example.
On Dolphin occurs more frequently than on konqueror
