Firefox opens under top gnome-panel in intrepid

Bug Description

Since intrepid alpha 6 release, Firefox top window decoration opens under the top gnome-panel when it is opened for the first time while compiz is enabled (default setting for a lot of computers).

So a lot of users might end with a Firefox window visibly impossible to close, re-dimension or move with a fresh ubuntu installation.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the actively developed release. You've disabled the "Place Windows" plugin in CompizConfig Settings Manager. Reenable it and this should be fixed.

This bug also appears as unexpected default behavior for 'Live session user' Live CD with
Intrepid 8.10 Alpha4 desktop 32-bit
Toshiba Satellite L355-S7812 Laptop

I only have infrequent access to this computer so any tests you might request may take a week to get to and I only know about some 30 or so of the more basic Terminal commands.

Sent Hardware report (System > Administration > Hardware testing) for this computer with above OS earlier today. I didn't see an opportunity to keep a copy of the report I sent in or how to generate or capture some of the types of information I see attached to Launchpad reports.

Somebody else in bug #275742 confirmed that this behavior happens in intrepid alpha 6 release.

Indeed, marking as duplicate. However, I'll comment on that bug because this issue was still there with intrepid beta CD.
