Bug Description

This bug affects Kubuntu.
Regression from Feisty to Gutsy BETA:
on Panasonic CF-W2 the function key Fn-F3 (which is supposed to change the video output) switches the screen off and freezes the computer (does not respond to any keys).

Brightness keys (which worked fine in Feisty) do not work.

Hibernation and suspend keys (which did not work in Feisty) still do not work.

Can you provide data as requested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuLaptopKeycodes ?

Can you test the following commands from Konsole:
dcop `dcop | grep power-manager` power-manager brightnessUp
dcop `dcop | grep power-manager` power-manager brightnessDown

Do these two commands change brightness properly on your laptop?

Both of these commands generate a small message box "Brighness: 0%" near the panel.
Both have no impact on brightness of the screen.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?
