Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Distribution upgrade to gutsy failed using update-manager 1:0.80, dpkg exited after initramfs update:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-13-generic
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "logging/__init__.py", line 753, in emit
  File "logging/__init__.py", line 731, in flush
IOError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor
gutsy: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0.

This triggered apport report pointing to cupsys, which failed to install. I believe this related to:
