Launchpad IDs don't work to log in

Bug Description
Launchpad has its own ID namespace for people. I can assign bugs by entering their ID, but I can't log in to Launchpad by entering my own ID. Either the former shouldn't be possible, or the latter should be.

You mean your numeric ID (which I don't know how to find out through the web interface) or your unique name in Launchpad?
