Bug Description

In

System Settings -> Advanced -> KDE resources

I have resources set for the Contacts and the Calender, but not for notes.
When I change from 'notes' to another item from the pull-down menu (Calendar or Contacts) an alert pops up telling me that "There is no valid standard resource! Please select one which is neither read-only nor inactive."

I think it is not correct to display this warning when another item is selected from the menu, it suggests there is no standard resource set for the newly selected item (Contacts or Calendar) which is not true.

Besides, if it is so important that a standard resource for notes is set, shouldn't it be created automatically, in order to prevent the user to be bothered for this?

Sincerely Yours!

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?

No, in KDE4 uninstalling KNotes causes the resource "Notes" to dissappear (it's empty), as opposed to KDE3, where it would still exist, but the entry would be empty.

It is therefore impossible to encounter this error in KDE4.
