Bug Description

Hello, it seems that a recent upgrade (applied sometime between March 3rd &
March 6th) has caused my Macintosh PowerBook G3 Pismo (400 MHz) to have its
"sleep light" turned into a hard drive access light. It seems this serious
problem also affects iBook users.

This light should ONLY get used when the computer is sleeping, NOT when the HD
is being accessed.

This is a MAJOR problem and should not have been applied since Hoary is supposed
to be into feature freeze, and, I'm guessing it's a kernel feature since it was
activated extremely early in the boot sequence. This is BAD, very BAD.

Also, it's a MAJOR departure from Macintosh user expectations (and, it looks
horrible -- I'm going to have to stay out of Ubuntu for a while until it's fixed
or I figure out how to turn it off).

Please be reasonable when filing bugs. A simple "sleep light as disk activity
indicator is distracting" would have sufficed.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
