Tribe-4 alternate installation causes screen to be unreadable

Bug Description
During the alternate installation process of gutsy tribe-4, the screen starts with the usual blue background and status window showing the progress of the installation. While installing the packages, the screen then has a black background and unreadable colors instead of the progress.
