Im leaving extensions task as incomplete until all info in on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Firefox3Extensions or on this bug and i will move it over to the wiki if needed. I will compare wiki and these bugs to see if we can atleast package it or not, some are listed as cant for a few difference reasons.

If I remember correctly, we should not mention "firefox" or "mozilla" in a package name, so maybe we could just use linkwidgets for the package name.

I can agree to that but we would have to do that with the rest of them,
cant remember how many but there were a few that used firefox
Is there any reason we cant use firefox or mozilla? Im running low on
time lately so it might be a while till i get to these extensions for
the time being.

Lets deal with old package names outside this bugreport. For this
extension we should use just "linkwidgets" as Saša suggests.

Prefixing the name of the binary package (if that's what you have
done, I haven't checked - ignore this if the binary isn't called like
that) with "firefox-" seems wrong to me, as the extensions can also be
used with abrowser/IceWeasel and, in many cases, with other browsers
(eg, SeaMonkey).

name of package is linkwidgets and it should work with all browsers it
supports iceweasel even sice we dont support iceweasel.

i need to update and make changes as follows refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Karmic/ExtensionReview

# ensure mozilla-devscripts 0.15 is used
# ensure that ${xpi:Depends} is used and be sure to add it under Recommends: field.
# ensure that no packages (browsers / mail clients) are in Depends: cause ${xpi:Depends} will do the trick for us
# ensure that Standards-Version 3.8.3 is used.
# ensure that you add reference to this wiki page in debian/changelog.
# verify that the extension works with ffox 3.5
# ensure that the extension do *not* ship an extra license file. Make use of MOZ_XPI_DOCUMENTED_LICENSE_FILES feature to remove them eventually.
