install ubuntu on pc hp dv4000 display problem

Bug Description

i test to install ubuntu fron cd live on hp dv4000 whith win xp
i change the definition display on start up to maximum
when the deskop appear, the display is cut in 6 small screen
no possibility to change in the system menu to another definition that 800x600

It's OK now, umbuntu it's correctly installed on my laptop and it's very
nice
after some search, I've found the solution here

Perhaps it's to late late for you to see what is the initial problem,
