Bug Description

When using OOo in "Record changes mode" (Edit/Changes/Record), and one of the
changed word is not recognised as a properly spelled word (i.e. it's
wavey-underlined in red, in addition to showing what the change is with colours
and strike-through, if enabled), right-clicking on the word brings up the
spell-check menu allowing to Add/Ignore/Replace the word, but the change
management functions (Accept/Reject change) are missing, thereby making it
impossible to “manipulate” this particular change from there.

One would expect a consistent interface where *both* spell-checking and
record-management actions are available from the context menu.

Olivier Mehani, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, there are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

Please test for this problem in LibreOffice. If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to type at the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer

For more on LibreOffice installation, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LibreOffice If the problem persists, please click "Also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)". As well, if the issue you are reporting is an upstream one, it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport . If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Ah, good. I wasn't sure whether there was a way to move to LibreOffice on 10.04 LTS (though I have to admit I didn't really search for it).

Anyway. I just installed LibreOffice 3.3.2-1ubuntu1~lucid2. The same problem is still present.

I guess the bug should be reopenned and moved to the libreoffice-writer package.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

In Record Changes Mode Accept/Reject change is not shown along with Add/Ignore/Replace options in drop-down spell-check list. So the user found inconsistency in this functionality.
