Bug Description
This seemed to work on Friday (28th Jan), but doesn't work this morning (31st Jan), and the kernel looks like the only related package I updated since then.
When I dock my laptop this morning, it locks up completely with the internal display blank and the external display still in standby. If I boot it with it sat on the dock (external display plugged in), I see plymouth, but then both displays go blank again and it freezes completely (presumably when X starts).
On one occasion, my laptop was kind enough to turn on its internal display once I undocked it after it froze, and I got this photo:

From that point, it's basically dead. It doesn't respond to anything other than holding down the power button.

Hi do you still get this on latest natty kernel (2.6.38-8.41)? I didn't look at the oops closely yet, but I suspect this is fixed by "drm: Hold the mode mutex whilst probing for sysfs status" in kernel tree, which was included in this latest natty upload.
