Steve Magoun reports ::

I tested both the 'v2' fix in the lkml thread and the upstream commit from comment #14 on an Edge 13 and x100e; both patches fix the dead zone on the touchpad and also allow horizontal edge scrolling to work when it's enabled.

SRU JUSTFICATION
=================
This patch fixes touchpad horizontal scrolling on X100e and Thinkpad Edge14. This patch makes the kernel only handle 1-button ClickPad specially, and treat 2-button ClickPad in the same fashion as regular touchpads.

SRU TESTING
============
Patched kernel tested by Steve Magoun and reported to work on Thinkpad Edge13 and X100e.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed' to 'verification-done'.

If verification is not done by one week from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

This patch was applied to Maverick as part of an upstream stable update, therefore it doesn't require individual verification.
