Bug Description

The kernel is improperly detecting the refresh rate of my monitor: "Samsung SyncMaster 551v" as 87 Hz while it's max. ratio is 85Hz.
This causes the screen to get a little narrower from all edges, and some very thin lines appear Horizontally,
In fact I fixed this on desktop, but no way to fix it while on gdm.

Ahmed Shams, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Maverick reached EOL on April 2012.
Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, can you please report the results following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Resolution#Problem:__Wrong_resolutions.2C_refresh_rates.2C_or_monitor_specs ? As well, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in a supported release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Thanks in advance.

Thank you Christopher. I thin this bug should be closed now as I've
purged that monitor.
Thanks :)
