Bug Description
Wireless network fails to connect after upgrade from Lucid to Maverick.
This appears similar to
#594866 [Maverick][2.6.35] RT2860 (ralink) support seems to be broken (it fails to connect to secured wireless networks)
however,I have tried setting WAP to be completely open (has no security) and the problem persists.
The network interface is:
*-network
product: RTL8180L 802.11b MAC
vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
physical id: 0
bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0
logical name: wlan1
version: 20
serial: 00:e0:98:bd:0c:66
width: 32 bits
clock: 33MHz
Syslog shows the following (over and over as it retries connection and fails):

There is a thread on the linux-wireless list that sounds like it might fix this problem, see http:// www.spinics. net/lists/ linux-wireless/ msg53115. html and especially http:// www.spinics. net/lists/ linux-wireless/ msg53204. html ("The patch lets me use wifi"). I have not yet actually tested this patch though (as I do not remember how to conveniently and sanely build just the affected module with the patch applied).
