Since upgrading to 10.04, internal speakers have produced loud, continuous static noise, which goes away if an external device (headphones or external speakers) are plugged in. Noise returns immediately on removing the external device and begins even on intialization after a reboot or power down. The only way to get rid of it is by muting the output.
