I think in 3.3 mac80211 can be some changes that cause we mess up with operating channel.

Mat, can you recreate the problem, if so, can you tell us what to do to hit this warning?

It can be configured in /etc/modprobe.d

echo "options iwlwifi swcrypto=1" >> /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf

Until now, it will be used every time iwlwifi module is used, so make it take a effect, you need to restart module:

modprobe -r iwlwifi
modprobe iwlwifi

povniet, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I'm hitting the same error on 3.3.1-5.fc16.x86_64 (Fedora 16) and on several kernels before too.

I'm connected using WPA2 Enterprise / PEAP / MSCHAPv2.

I have troubles with frequent roaming between two AP while signal is strong from both. Connection sometimes stops working while trying to roam between APs.

Don't know, if this two problems are related. I've never had this problem while connected to single AP with WPA2 personal with good quality signal.

I'm seeing this (or something similar? bug #809884 ?) on a Thinkpad X201 when connecting to WPA2 Enterprise / PEAP / MSCHAPv2 (as per eduroam: http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/network/wireless/services/eduroam/fedora/ )

I'm finding this network unstable to the point of unusable -- it keeps disconnecting. I'm assuming this is related to the warning?
