i initially reported this bug as rsync one :

but changed my mind after I added MARK in rsylogd each 5 minutes and see this in kern.log at moment corresponding to rsync (and before freeze)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test a current, supported, Ubuntu version. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 626834, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

This bug report is not invalid.
10.04 is a LTS and nothing has change in it since my bug report (as opposed to what is said in your automatic speech)

What additional informations do you need ? (i can test again soon)

I did not mark this invalid yet, and my speech is not automatic. and, yes, a lot has changed. If you can supply the requested information and test this with the latest upstream kernel, that would be great! Otherwise, it will become invalid in 60 days.

If you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Do you need something more than automated logs from the bugtool ?

I don't even need all the logs, I just need to know if it is fixed in Natty, or by testing with the upstream kernel:

Either method would possibly allow a fix to be backported to the release you are using.

Thanks for helping with this.
