Bug Description

Binary package hint: abiword

On Ubuntu 10.04.1 using Abiword 2.8.2-2ubuntu1.1, I am unable to switch to to presentation view.

When selecting "Ansicht / Presentation" (probably "View / Presentation" in English), nothing happens.

When started from a terminal window, the following error message is displayed in that case:

kramski@gondl:~$ abiword&
[1] 4192
kramski@gondl:~$
** (abiword:4192): WARNING **: Got plain filename /usr/share/abiword-2.8/Presentation.xml in UT_go_file_open.
[LoadBindings] Error: XML file failed to load

Also occurs on a different machine running Xubuntu 10.04.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here. I was able to confirm this issue in Abiword 2.8.6 in Natty.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 10.04.4 Desktop reached EOL on May 9, 2013.

I've tried recreating this bug with your release and was unable to, given the information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.
