Bug Description

After upgrade from Jaunty to Lucid (10.04 LTS), I am unable to get a wireless connection using an Intel 3945 (iwl3945 driver). I expected an automatic connection upon boot, instead, interface wlan0 is not associated with the wireless access point.

Others who have reported problems with iwl3945 have been able to connect after running
   rmmod -f iwl3945
   modprobe iwl3945
However, removing and reloading the module does not change the behavior for me.

Others have noted a similar problem only in connecting to an encrypted network, but I have the problem on an unencrypted network.

Others have had success connecting after removing the dell_laptop module. For me this has no effect.

It may be helpful to know that I could not connect after the upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic. I pressed on with the upgrade to Lucid in hopes the problem had been corrected in the latest release.

Presently the bug is marked as affecting only one person (me). I think
it'll get more attention if more people are affected. Would you please
click on the link that says "This bug affects 1 person. Does this bug
affect you?" Thanks.
