When I start "nvidia-settings", navigate to the "X Server Display Configuration" section and click "Save to X Configuration File", an error is displayed and the configuration is not saved:

A Python module is missing. This is fixed and confirmed by:
root@famzahpc:~# apt-get install python-gtk2
root@famzahpc:~# nvidia-settings
# after that, in the "X Server Display Configuration" section, clicking "Save to X Configuration File" works fine
No more Python errors and saving works properly.
The root issue is screen- resolution- extra, which does not depend on python-gtk2 as it should. resolution- extra
nvidia-settings correctly depend on screen-
